The 2011 Global Citizen Corps Annual Leadership Summit will take place in Portland, OR and bring together 20-30 exceptional high school students from around the U.S.

Recipient of over 24 international awards including Best Documentary at the Hollywood Film Festival, Garbage Dreams follows three teenage boys and a dream. Situated on the outskirts of Cairo, in a village literally made of trash, the boys belong to a group of 60,000 people called the 'Zabbaleen', or 'Garbage People', who survive by recycling over 80% of the garbage they collect.

Have you entered the Africa RuralConnect Essay Contest yet? This summer, Africa Rural Connect has partnered with the World Policy Journal to give you avenue to express your opinions on broader food security policies in Africa.

Africa Rural Connect, a program of the National Peace Corps Association, in conjunction with World Policy Journal, recently launched an essay contest. Africa Rural Connect wants to hear your insights on how to approach the larger issue of food security in rural Africa. The contest runs from June 1, 2010 to July 31, 2010.

The American Friends Service Committee and National Priorities Project are sponsoring a youth video project to help young people (high school and college age) enter the cost-of-war discussion.

The World Summit Youth Awards mission is to empower youth by creating digital opportunity. In spite of their technological expertise, young people remain marginalized, unemployed and lacking voice in the decisions that affect them each day.

Due to the immense needs following the earthquake of January 12, 2010, True Hero has started a special competition that will be awarding $10,000 to schools (college and high school) for projects devoted to "Haiti Assistance" 
for the school year ending June 30, 2010.
