Gaza:iYouth Distributes Food Baskets To Workers Families

Food security exists when all people, at all times, have physical and economic access to enough safe and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy lifestyle. The world is facing a potential crisis in terms of food security. The challenge is to produce and supply enough safe and nutritious food in a sustainable way for a growing global population, which is projected to reach 9 billion by 2050.

Regarding  this important global issue , iYouth members from Adam Centre for Dialogue of Civilizations took their chance to respond to this  issue by distributing 40 food baskets for 40 needy  families , where the youth choose  Palestinian worker's families since they are living in difficult  circumstances because they don't have their own revenue  after the Gaza Strip closure since 2007.

On 27th May 2012 , about 30 members prepared " 40" food baskets and delivered these baskets to 40 workers' families were divided into 2 groups  . The first one was  in Jabalyia Camp , were the youth visited them in their homes and delivered them their baskets. The other group was from different places from marginalized areas in Gaza came to the centre and received their baskets from the youth . The baskets included many necessary  food supplies  would last for 3-4 weeks. This activity aims to reduce the economic burden on those families which  live in very difficult  conditions .
