Ceremony to remember lost lives in Iraq
On April 14, 2009 Sherwana Group attended the ceremony and raised their discontent against an operation which was against Human Rights and Humanity. Sherwana group made a big banner with” Your souls are still alive”. This banner by itself could call the photographers because it was only banner which was written in English Language. A large number of people gathered to respect and honor the reburial of 187 Anfal Victims. From 2008 these bodies had been found in two mass graves close to “Najaf city” south west Iraq. The Anfal operation carried out by the former Iraqi regime in 1988, this operation resulted a big loss to Kurdish nation in various aspects especially for the 182,000 victims that had been moved by Iraqi military forces and taken to southern of Iraq. The majority of the victims were from Garmian area, hundreds of them were discovered in the mass grave.
