One World Summer Programs 2010
Call for Applications from Young Leaders of Minority Backgrounds: get human rights and development fieldwork experience in Cambodia, Uganda and Senegal.
One World is currently recruiting for our 2010 Summer Programs in Cambodia, Uganda and Senegal. We are looking for young leaders (ages 18-25) from minority and indigenous backgrounds with an interest in international human rights and development.
The eight-week Young Leaders Program consists of a one-week training in the host country and a seven-week internship at a local or national NGO focusing on various areas within human rights and development. The program runs from June 1 - August 1, 2010 with a pre-departure orientation in Washington, DC on May 28, 2010. The program fee is $3,500 which covers round-trip airfare from DC to the host-country, housing, emergency medical insurance, food and water stipend, and training and other program-related costs. The program fee does not cover visa or vaccination costs. Full scholarships are available for participants pursuing public health through a partnership with the Global Health Fellowship Program, and partial need-based scholarships are also available. One World provides guidance and assistance to all participants to successfully fund the program fee through individual donations, institutional grants and other means.
