Middle East Youth Festival
On the 2nd day of the festival, we began to prepare for the school summit, held in the City Chambers in Edinburgh. This would require us to teach our peers what we had learned over the past week. There were 4 groups and each one had a different topic to teach: types of conflict, life cycle of a conflict, a role play activity and the role of the media in fuelling conlfict. Here are the thoughts of Yafa, one of the group members from Jordan.
"When I was chosen to present at the conference, I was afraid because I didn't know any of the other students, and this was my first time presenting in front of other people. After I got to know them better, I became confident and my task seemed easier. Our performance was assessed and the feedback was very positive, and this was a great learning experience for me."
After that we went shopping and bought lots of presents for our families and friends. I wanted to buy so many things but I had to stop myself :) I hope that I will get to visit Edinburgh again soon because it is such a beautiful city.
