The Innovations in Student Leadership Conference (ISLC) networks conflict resolution students, academics, and practitioners from the Washington, DC metropolitan area and provides compelling panels, discussions, and lectures on timely issues in the field of conflict resolution.
The ISL Conference is a collaborative effort of several peace and conflict resolution programs from around the DC area including American University, Georgetown University, George Washington University, George Mason University, and Johns Hopkins University.
On Saturday, February 26th, 2011, the ISL Conference will be hosted by American University at the School of International Service and will focus on the topic of Media and Conflict Resolution. The conference will look at innovations in new media and social media, how media can be used as a tool for conflict resolution practitioners, and the challenges faced by journalists and other media outlets operating in conflict zones. This year’s conference will feature keynote speaker John Marks, President and Founder of Search for Common Ground.
