Unpaid Internship Opportunity – Research Intern, Green Compass Research
Green Compass Research is seeking a research intern interested in environmental issues throughout the Arab and Muslim world. The intern will be introduced to relevant contacts and resources worldwide and will be provided with projects feedbacks and training.
Major Duties
- Conduct research on Islam and the environment, environmental issues throughout the Arab and Muslim world, Inter-faith environmental activities between Muslims and followers of other religions all over the world, environment in war-zone countries (Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya), and other issues as assigned.
- Write website articles, policy briefs, and other materials.
- Assist in the conduct of market research, in case needed.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
- Background in environmental issues, Middle East or any part of the Muslim world, Islam, international relations, environmental security, economics or a related field.
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Very strong attention to details
- Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills and a high standard of professionalism
- Knowledge of Arabic, Somali, Swahili, Malay, or Urdu is a plus
This is an unpaid internship. I am seeking a research intern or a volunteer for full time or part time job. The part time job is flexible. Green Compass Research is based in Jerusalem, but the candidate can work from home, so it doesn't matter in what country or continent the candidate is based. Its aims are to enable individuals, companies, NGOs, research centers, think tanks, and decision makers to better understand environmental issues and challenges facing the Arab and Muslim world as well as to help businessmen and companies to become integrated in environmental business activities throughout the Arab and Muslim world.
The connection between environmental issues and economy, society, and culture in the Arab and Muslim world is inseparable. Therefore, Green Compass Research is also conducting research on the abovementioned topics and is also giving research and consultancy services on those issues.
