Iraq: Sulaimaniya - GCC Youth Putting Trash to Work

Reusing trash is one way to contribute to the global solution of climate change.  In Sulaimaniya, GCC youth decided to implement a reusing trash project by creating trashcans. The youth went to a blacksmith to create the shape of a big can. Then, they collected plastic water bottles to reuse for this project. They were able to collect hundreds of bottles and made three big trashcans. The trashcans were placed in the city’s main playground and their artistic design attracted the playground visitors’ attention. The youth asked the cleaners and guards of the park to tell the park visitors about the idea of reusing trash.
