Children’s Day takes place each year on June 1st across the world.  Children’s Day is celebrated to raise global awareness about a child’s rights and needs.  In order to recognize Children’s Day, GCC leaders in Pakistan designed and implemented a fun, educational event for children.

On June 1st GCC leaders, in partnership with Kurdistan Save the Children, organized a large community celebration.  First attendees took part in a
group sing-along that featured children performers.   Then GCC leaders created and led a puzzle exercise in order to educate children about their rights and the lives of other children around the world.

GCC leaders asked the children several questions which covered a wide range of topics, such as school and children’s rights, and rewarded those who answered correctly with gifts. The puzzle activity was a huge success.  Children were eager to come onstage and answer questions, and over 100 gifts were handed out.  GCC youth also prepared badges that displayed the logo of ROTA and GCC, and with the date June 1st written as a reminder of the celebration.  These were distributed to all attending children.
