Gaza: Celebrating International Peace Day

On September 21st, 2011, iYouth members held a gathering for youth form different backgrounds and discussed important topics related to Peace and Conflict. The most important issue discussed in the event was The Palestinians Run to have a State in September 2011.

On September 22nd, 2011, iYouth members prepared a film screening about peace activities in Palestine. The youth watched and discussed photo slide shows, a small documentaries about Rachel Corrie* and Vittorio Ariggoni*, and the movie "Death in Gaza" a documentary directed and filmed by James Miller a journalist killed in 2004.

The culminating event celebrating International Peace day was a soccer match, between iYouth members. On 1st of October 2011, and under the title "We Play for Peace" iYouth members played friendly matches together wearing their T-Shirts with "Match For Peace" slogan.

Finally Mr. Imad Al Falouji thanked the members for their efforts and then he honored the players by giving them medals.

Overall of 50 iYouth members were engaged in the actions and more than 100 community members were reached.
