Pakistan: Sukkur - "One Day One Goal" International Peace Day Soccer Match

The GCC youth leaders of Sukkur celebrated ‘One day One goal’ event by organizing a friendly soccer match between GCC Sukkur youth leaders team & Sukkur District Football association team. The soccer match was held at ‘Navy Park, Rohri, SUKKUR.

The Purpose of this match was to promote message of peace on ‘International Peace Day ‘ on September 21^st.  Both teams were very excited about playing this soccer match, as it is the first time that such an event was held in this community.

The GCC youth leaders team wore white colors t-shirts bearing GCC logo while the other team wore yellow t-shirts. The match started at 5 pm local time. During the first half of the game the Sukkur district football association team scored 3 goal against GCC youth leaders team. After break, the GCC youth leaders team scored their first ever goal against opponents team.

Both teams enjoyed the match, as the game requires close collaboration amongst team players, both team players represented true

Team work and strategy. The GCC youth leader’s team learned a lot about techniques in scoring goals against opponents and they indented to use the techniques next time when get a chance to play any soccer match.

Before the closing of the event the team players expressed their ideas about events that promote peace in their community. They emphasized that by organizing such events youth and local community members come together to share ideas about peace and conflict.
