Gaza: iYouth visit the Al Wafa hospital and the elderly care center

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, which lasts 29 to 30 days. It is the Islamic month of fasting, in which participating Muslims refrain from eating and drinking and is intended to teach Muslims about patience, humility, and spirituality. Muslims fast for the sake of God and to offer more prayers than usual.

iYouth members prepared a day to visit patients and the elderly people in Al Wafa hospital, in order to showing some care, and celebrate the coming of Ramadan with them. 


On the 24th of July, and before the beginning of Ramadan by 8 days, iYouth members went to Al Wafa hospital to celebrate the coming of Ramadan with the residents of the hospital. The youth started their event by visiting the elderly people, setting and talking with them for a while. The girls went to old ladies section, and the guys went to old gents section. After that the exchanged roles, and before leaving they distributed a gift and a copy of our holy book “The Quran” to each one of them.

After the youth finished their first part of the visit, they moved to the second part, which is visiting some patients in the hospital, wishing them a very soon recovery from their illness, and congratulating them on the coming of Ramadan. The same gift and a copy of “Quran” were distributed to them.

Overall of 30 iYouth members males and females were engaged in the action. And about 60 persons of the hospital residents (elderly people and patients) were reached.
