USA: San Diego - Food Security Interviews

My name is Melissa and I am a third year student studying at the University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego). At school I study Political Science in the Middle East. I am part of many organizations in college that deal with promoting international awareness which help solve important global issues of our time such as food security, peace/conflict, and climate change. My college celebrated food security week by inviting many people from the community to talk about the importance of helping communities in the San Diego area have access to adequate food sources. Food security week was successful at UC San Diego because many people at my school who aren’t familiar with the importance of food security have started to care about this issue and are more educated on this topic. It was a fantastic feeling to interview many students at my school are as passionate and dedicated to food security issues as we are.
