Jordan: GCC Jordan Action Day for Public Health

On March 22^nd leaders from GCC Jordan launched their first Action Day. At the end of the Public Health unit they decided to raise awareness on one of the major issues they find problematic in their community. As in the GCC sessions, the leaders focused on aspects of a healthy lifestyle to pass this information on to their peers and families. During their preparation they were able to win Doctor Jasem from the Karam Medical Clinic in Hashimi Shamali to support them in their Action checking height, weight, blood pressure and sugar for free and giving general advice on individual health issues. GCC leaders had prepared templates for the visitors to take the measured information from the doctor back home.

At a big playground, youth and children were entertained and educated at the same time playing many different games and were rewarded with a variety of “healthy” prices for their efforts. The games related to sports, healthy eating and drinking and knowledge of health. Additionally, there was breakdance and rap presenting the many different talents of Jordan’s GCC leaders.
