Pakistan: Swat- Video Production Training
SWAT- PAKISTAN: GCC YOUTH LEADERS TRAINING ON VIDEO PRODUCTION
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. What about a video? How many of us get our information through the help of media? How many different types of media are there? How effective is the media in not only providing us with information but also extracting a response from us regarding the information that is provided?
Everyone who can read this blog is familiar with the power of media and its ability to shape our minds. However, not everyone knows how to utilize this power to their advantage. For this reason, GCC CYAAD organized a four day beginner training on video production in Swat, Pakistan from the 25th till the 28th of January 2012. Twenty three GCC Leaders took active part in this initiative and were trained in pre-production, production and post-production. Through this training they understood how technical video creation is and the process that needs to be followed in producing a video with the purpose of generating awareness.
Later, these people were able to produce 3 short documentaries on topics crucial to their community such as “Water Pollution in Swat”, “Youth Issues in Swat” and “Female Education in Swat”.
The success of this unique initiative inspires us to take upon some challenges of our own. Kudos to the GCC Leaders in Swat for pulling this off!
