Pakistan: Swat - "One day one Goal" Soccer and Theater for Peace

The CYAAD Swat team and GCC youth organized an action called “One day one Goal” a football match on the 23 of September. A crowd of more than 1,000 people enjoyed the match and the crowd highly appreciated this event. The purpose of the match was dedicated to peace and to those who contribute their efforts to establish peace in world. This match raised massive awareness reaching more than thousand youth of the district who were directly or indirectly effected by violence during the rule of Taliban. Youth and elders reflected on the importance of establishing peace through sports and to convey the message that the youth are peace lovers and are ready to play their role for long-lasting peace in the region.

In addition to the soccer match, the youth leaders of Swat have organized a peace event in Kabal which was presided over by the chairman of Swat, the Aman committee (Swat Peace committee) and its members. The youth leaders of Swat also expressed their desire for peace in their district through a role play to sensitize the people about the root causes of conflict and what are its impacts on the social, economical and lives of the people. This role play was presented by the following youth leaders;

Mr. Shan Elihi, Mr. Fazal Moula, Mr. Qasim, Mr.Salman Ahmad ,Mr.Zahor Ahmad, Mr. Falak Naz Mr. Jawad Ahmad.

The participants highly appreciated the efforts of CYAAD and the heart touching acting of youth leaders. At the end, the chairman of Aman committee briefly highlighted  the pre and post scenario of conflict in Swat and the contribution made by youth who can play their role as peace ambassadors to ensure the peace in the region.
