1. iEARN-PANGEA VIRTUAL SUMMER SCHOOL.   iEARN-Pangea is training over 200 teachers in the use of Web 2.0 tools, from July 1-14.  Participants are enrolled across 9 online courses focusing on a range of topics, including LAMS, Quia, Moodle, Augmented Reality, Cooperative strategies in the digital classroom (including iEARN projects).  Read More >

2. iEARN-PAKISTAN HOSTS SUMMER CAMPS.  On June 28th,iEARN-Pakistan started its English Access Microscholarship Program in Karachi with online activities for students from different Access Karachi Centers. Students got connected through Skype and Blackboard (Elluminate) and shared their experiences, including discussions of their community service projects, field trips and creative writing.  Mobile technology tools (EVDO Internet devices, laptops and multimedia projectors) were used to connect students.

SUBMIT YOUR PROJECT TO BE INCLUDED IN THE 2011-2012 IEARN PROJECT BOOK.  If your project is already active and will continue, please submit an updated template toprojects@iearn.org.  If it is a new project, please first post your project idea in the Teachers Forum or, for students, the Youth Forum.  Once you find partners (please note that this step is required), complete the project template below and send it to  projects@iearn.org as soon as possible, but no later than the FINAL DEADLINE of August 1, 2011.  This project template can be submitted in any language, and is available in multiple languages in the translated versions of the iEARN Project Book.

Regional Training of Trainers Course on the use of the ‘Learning To Live Together’ manual for Ethics Education for Children

The GNRC South Asia Secretariat is offering a Regional Training of Trainers Course on the use of the ‘Learning To Live Together’ manual for Ethics Education for Children. The course will be held at the Vishva Nikethan International Peace Centre in Sri Lanka from 13th-18th August, 2011.  

The course is designed for formal and non-formal educators working with children to become trainers on the Learning To Live Together manual .  

Whilst the course mainly targets participants from South Asia, candidates from other parts of Asia and elsewhere are also invited to apply. Limited number of travel support is available for candidates.
