Livelihood programs compromising climate change issues

Climate change stands at the pick of concern now. Farmers in my community are complaining about low yield yearly. Drought had occurance every 10 years, but today its yearly. The message is 18years back our village was bush but now its completely bare--a person can be seen from about 3-4 kilometers. Now its the time to take up the tree planting ladder faster. Engage the community to develop a profile importance of vegetation in their locality. In Karamoja (one of the pastoral communities of Uganda) a drought and famine striken region of Uganda--need the rejuvenation of vegetation, otherwise we must act. Plant trees, plant trees plant trees plant trees. I facilitated the planting of about 8000 trees in 2006 to 2008 in Karamoja and parts of Northern Uganda, and there was positive response....we need to plant trees....
I would be very happy if the Carbon buyers in developed countries consider reinforcing such activities.
Thanks
