hi i'm melek from germany, I would like to get some information

Hi everybody,
i'm Melek 16 years old and I"m from Germany.
For 2 weeks i will do an Intership in the Mercy Corps Action Center in New York.
In this time I will learn more about how I can help people all around the world.
Usually I go to High School in Berlin (Germany) there i go to the 11 grade.
Since 2 years I'm a muslim and I'm very interested in other cultures espacially from middle east. I would like to know how the life is gone in countrys who are marked by the Islam.
It would be awesome if someone who life in such a country could give me some information about his life.
