Report of GCC-UIN+HIMKA's Project

First of all, I would like to introduce my self. My name is Muhammad Faisal Harahap, just call me Faisal. I'm the member of GCC Leaders Indonesia. Actually, I am also a student of State Islamic University of Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, it was so-called UIN. Then, at the same campus, there were another GCC's members, they were : Luciana Chendrawati (Chichi), Andri Zainal, and Bryan Muhammad Atha'illah (Bryan). Besides, I also had succesfully recruited addition member of GCC from my university when Mercy Corps Indonesia opened training for recruitees, they were Citra Pertiwi (Citrap), Amiroh Adilah (Adel), and Eko. Further, we want to establish GCC Leaders branch UIN (GCC-UIN) in the next time to integrate our potential in making a change and make sure that our actions is organized-well. That's exactly the goal of GCC Leaders itself as well as the reason why we decided to affiliated in.
I just want to underline that "who are you, where are you come from, what is your position in society's structure, and even you're a youth,.. You have an opportunity to make a change". I simply define "change" as the actions that can make certain conditions being better than before. So, before making a change, firstly you have to know what is wrong in your society or at least in your community. In the simple word "analize the problem". Secondly, after you know what's the problem, then decide what is the action that you can do to make up the condition. I highly suggest you to use "SWOT Analysis" because it's really help me in analyzing what is my strenght, weakness, opportunity, and threatment. Bearing in mind that, change is not only always suppossed to be big actions, but also let's make the change from the simple actions.
Let me to make it real....
Actually, I'm as representative of GCC-UIN would like to report our last actions. In responding Mercy Corps's month actions at December, which is : HIV/AIDS, GCC-UIN ft. HIMKA (Himpunan Mahasiswa Kimia-Chemistry's Student Association) have held a talkshow with the theme "WE, ODHA (The person's HIV/AIDS-infected"), and HIV/AIDS at December 22, 2010 in Theater Room of Faculty of Sciences and Technology-UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. We proudly stated that this event organized-well, in which : there were 174 participants, three speakers; Rizky Maulana Aries (Indonesia's AIDS foundations-YAIDSI), Frederick Scott (JOTHI), Winda (PKBI), and moderated by Faisal Harahap. We also succedded to make this talkshow as comfort as possible by including HIV/AIDS'-related film, HIMKA's performances, and encouraging the participants to actively participated in every seasons of those event. The participants was opened for public.
The goal of this event were to create awareness of the youth on how dangerous is HIV/AIDS exactly, gave the knowledge of HIV/AIDS itself, and further we hope we can advocated the participants that had a passions in HIV/AIDS's. We realized that there is not a really perfect man in this world, we also made any mistakes in organizing this event so that we really sorry if there is inconvinience conditions or services.
