World AIDS Day
Hello! So as well know, World AIDS Day is coming up on December 1... what are people planning on doing to help out? What sorts of things can we do on a local, national, and international level to really try and solve this problem?
The thing that always astounds me about the fight against HIV/AIDS is how many simple things could help it. Drugs that cost dollars a day could save lives. Proper nutrition could save lives. Proper hygiene could save lives. Having babies born in hospitals (thus making sure the mother doesn't transfer HIV to the baby) could save lives. All of these things seem relatively easy and inexpensive (in terms of that ease/cost of these programs in general)... so why is that still so little is being done?
