I opened the door
And took a boat out to sea.
The water brought me to your house,
Where I heard green grass
Whistle in the wind.
The waves brought me to your house,
Where my skin felt the warmth
Of the rising sun.
The ripples brought me to your house,
Where my feet touched a road
Built with rough rocks.

Today,
I opened the door
And took my imagination into space.
I saw our little world,
Swimming quietly in the night.
And from up there, I found you
Waking, I found you laughing,
I found you singing.

Today,
I opened the door,
I took a walk down a street,
And my arms swinging here
Started to grow and stretch.
I reached across to you,
And I took your hand.
You held mine.

Today,
We connect. We are together.
Our hands touch his and hers and theirs;
They hold on.

Today,
You feel safe with me,
And I feel safe with you.
My house becomes yours,
And the door never closes.

Beautiful world,
Lit up and unlocked –
Today,
My arms are open too.
