	Iraq: Earth Hour On March 23^rd 2013, 15 former GCC youth leaders organized its second annual Earth Hour event in Kurdistan, in the northern part of Iraq. Earth Hour is a global initiative that mobilizes millions of people across 152 countries and territories to take action on climate change in unison by switching lights off for one hour on a specific day each year.
	Iraq: Sulaimanyah - ROTA Olympics In late 2012, GCC Iraq leaders and mentors launched the ROTA Olympics in Sulaimanyah to foster healthy lifestyle and fitness, and to bring together youth from around the area to build relationships through sports.
	Iraq: Sulaimanyah - Water Awareness Campaign Following a recent outbreak of Cholera, 15 GCC leaders in Sulaimanyah, Iraq designed and implemented an action project to raise awareness and inform citizens about water usage and the water-borne disease, Cholera.
	USA: Boston - Funding Change Weekend Funding Pitches From November 16th through the 18th, ten youth from across the Boston Metropolitan area came together in order to discuss critical development issues and explore ways to address the issues of most pressing need in their community! 	US: Oregon City - Take Care of Each Other 2 After the success of last year’s, “Take Care of Each Other” campaign leaders from Oregon City revamped their idea to make it bigger and better for International Peace Day 2012. In addition to the peace signs and photos they also organized a Peace Match bringing people from across the community together inviting them to set aside their differences and have fun with one another.
	Tunisia: Gafsa - Why we GCC! Since it's inception in 2011 GCC Tunisia has been very active assessing and prioritizing community needs in order to help build a secure, productive, and just Tunisia. Operating with leaders in both Gafsa and the capital Tunis, GCC countinues to grow and createa positive change in the community. 	Somaliland: Cleaning Hergeisa Dam For their second action project of the year, GCC Somaliland decided to do a community cleanup around the Hargeisa dam. The location is a critical water source for local IDP settlements and GCC youth felt they could make a difference if they worked together. As some of the youth said after the completion of the project, “unity is strength.”
	Somaliland: Youth-led Training Fifty youth from the Somaliland Culture and Sports Association (SOCSA) received five day civic engagement training from their Global Citizen Corps (GCC) peers in Hargeisa to officially join the GCC team already consisting of 167 youth across Somaliland. Mohamed Meygag, also known as 'Mr. Action' said they plan to extend their mentorship trainings to the rest of the regions in Somaliland in order to reach out to as many youth as possible. He called upon the youth to embrace the program saying that given an opportunity, the youth can make a positive contribution in their communities.
	Iraq: Kalar- Mentor Training On the June 23^rd 2012, seven GCC leaders from Kalar participated in a mentor training. These leaders have been participants in the GCC program as leaders for a minimum of two years and will now be tasked with recruiting, training and supporting their peers in Kalar to take action in their community.
	GCC Hosts MEPI Students Throughout July and August, Global Citizen Corps, in partnership with Portland State University, hosted a group of youth leaders through the ACT! Youth Leadership Program. Sponsored by the US Department of State Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), this program brought together 18 university-aged youth from across the Middle East and North Africa region to develop the tools and support systems to mobilize their home communities to create positive and constructive change.
	GCC Leader Rubi Raises Awareness on International Women's Day About a year into her time as a GCC leader, Rubi decided she was going to honor International Women's day for her next action project.
	GCC Lebanon Holds National Summit On June 6, on a Global Citizen Corps initiative, University trainers, partner universities' officials, Mercy Corps staff, and youth from the south and from the north of Lebanon gathered all together in order to share their respective experiences.
